RIIHAN309A - Conduct Telescopic Materials Handler Operations

Nationally Recognised TrainingThis unit covers conducting telescopic materials handler operations in the resources and infrastructure industries. It includes planning and preparing; conducting machine pre-operational checks; operating the telescopic materials handler; attaching, securing, lifting, carrying and placing materials; selecting, removing and fitting attachments; carrying out machine operator maintenance; and cleaning up.

  • Codes of Practice
  • Work requirements, safety information and procedures
  • Site hazards
  • Conduct machine pre-operational checks
  • Demonstrate signals
  • Operation of telescopic handler
  • Selection, removal and fit attachments
  • Operator maintenance

Course Pre-requisites:

  • Read and write English to a basic level
  • Have the necessary health and fitness to carry out the work safely  

Assessments:

  • Written Assessment
  • Practical Assessment

Duration:

  • 1 day for training and assessment
  • 3 - 4 hours for experienced operators, assessment only, must supply work history

Certification:

On successful completion you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment and a wallet sized plastic card stating the unit achieved.
