RIIMPO318E - Conduct Civil Construction Skid Steer Loader Operations (Civil)

This unit describes a participant’s skills and knowledge required to conduct telescopic materials handler operations in the Resources and Infrastructure Industries.

This unit is appropriate for those working in operational roles.

The unit covers conducting skid steer loader operations in the civil construction, resources and infrastructure industries.  It includes: planning and preparing; conducting machine pre-operational checks; operating skid steer loaders; lifting, carrying and placing materials; selecting, removing and fitting attachments; carrying out machine operator maintenance; and cleaning up.

Course Content:


Novice: $990 per person
Experienced: $700 per person

  • Pre-start checks

Course Pre-requisites:

  • Have the necessary health and fitness to carry out the work safely  


  • Written Assessment
  • Practical Assessment


  • 1 day for training and assessment
  • 3 - 4 hours for experienced operators, assessment only, must supply work history


On successful completion you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment and a wallet sized plastic card stating the unit achieved.
