RIIMPO318A - Conduct Skid Steer Loader Operations

Nationally Recognised TrainingThis unit covers conducting skid steer loader operations in the civil construction, resources and infrastructure industries.  It includes: planning and preparing; conducting machine pre-operational checks; operating skid steer loaders; lifting, carrying and placing materials; selecting, removing and fitting attachments; carrying out machine operator maintenance; and cleaning up.

  • Plan & prepare operations
  • Operation techniques
  • Inspect & prepare work area
  • Machine inspections and fault finding 
  • Pre-start checks
  • Communication practices
  • Monitoring and alarm systems
  • Response to hazards and emergency situations
  • Operational routine maintenance and servicing

Course Pre-requisites:

  • Read and write English to a basic level
  • Have the necessary health and fitness to carry out the work safely  

Assessments:

  • Written Assessment
  • Practical Assessment

Duration:

  • 1 day for training and assessment
  • 3 - 4 hours for experienced operators, assessment only, must supply work history

Certification:

On successful completion you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment and a wallet sized plastic card stating the unit achieved.
