MNMG238A - Conduct Forklift Operations

Forklift courses are run on a regular schedule at our Guildford training school or we can arrange group training and/ or assessment at clients’ premises.

Options include:

  • Two to three hour assessments for experienced operators.
  • One day training and assessment courses designed to impart basic skills to novice operators.
  • Tailored training such as refresher courses or specific task techniques.

Our training course covers:

  • Legislation
  • Duty of care
  • Inspection and safe working loads of equipment
  • Hazard identification, risk assessment and control
  • Carrying out a two (dual) forklift operation
  • Centres of gravity for forklift trucks and loads
  • Forklift truck design limits
  • Load velocity versus vehicle speed
  • Carrying passengers and raising personnel
  • Work permits and isolations
  • Reporting of damage and defects
  • Minimum clearances
  • Re-fuelling vehicles/ cylinders and LPG safety
  • Planning work to ensure clear paths of travel, and communication with co-workers

Our one day training course will usually provide novice trainees with sufficient basic skills to earn a statement of attainment in forklift operations. The time required to train people does vary though, depending on your level of hand – eye coordination, and your ability to adapt to new ideas and techniques. Additional training is of course available if required.

After successful completion of your course you will be issued with a Worksafe Notice Of Assessment which will immediately entitle you to perform work until you receive your card. We also issue a Statement Of Attainment stating the unit achieved and process your Worksafe paperwork for you. All units can contribute towards completion of MNM20105 Certificate II and/or MNM30105 Certificate III in metalliferous mining.

BCGCM3001B - Operate Elevated Work Platforms

Elevated Work Platform courses are run on a regular schedule at our Guildford training school or at clients’ premises by arrangement.

Options include:

  • Two to three hour assessments for experienced operators.
  • One day training and assessment courses designed to impart basic skills to novice operators.
  • Tailored training such as refresher courses or specific task techniques.

Our course covers:

  • Certification requirements
  • Duty of care
  • Responsibilities
  • Inspection and safe working loads of equipment
  • Hazard identification, risk assessment and control
  • Environmental factors such as high wind and soft surfaces
  • Centres of gravity of elevating work platforms and design limits
  • Excavations and load supporting surfaces
  • Hazards associated with working aloft in an isolated position
  • Carrying materials within the platform
  • Work permits and isolations
  • Reporting of damage and defects
  • Minimum clearances
  • Planning work to ensure clear paths of travel, and communication/ consulting with co-workers and others
  • Operating/ working in public places

MNMG207A - Conduct Dogging Operations

Dogging courses are run every week at our Guildford training school over six days. Because of the way the course is structured and the overlapping knowledge requirements it is possible to also complete basic rigging, CN crane and CV crane or any combination within six days.

Our course covers:

  • Certification requirements
  • Duty of care
  • Responsibilities
  • Inspection, discard factors and safe working loads of fibre rope, wire rope, synthetic slings, chains and general lifting gear
  • Hazard identification, risk assessment and control
  • Environmental factors such as high wind and soft surfaces
  • Centres of gravity, structural and stability zones, and design limits of cranes
  • Excavations and load supporting surfaces
  • Hazards associated with working in the proximity of loads and moving equipment
  • Assessing the mass of loads
  • Work permits and isolations
  • Minimum clearances
  • Planning the work to ensure clear paths of travel, and communication/ consulting with co-workers and others
  • Operating/ working in public places
  • Lifting personnel by crane

After successful completion of your course you will be issued with a Worksafe Notice Of Assessment which will immediately entitle you to perform work until you receive your card. We also issue a Statement Of Attainment stating the unit achieved and process your Worksafe paperwork for you. MNMG208A - Conduct Basic Rigging Operations

Basic Rigging courses are run every week at our Guildford training school over six days. It is a Worksafe requirement that you possess a dogging ticket before you can complete basic rigging. Because of the way the course is structured and the overlapping knowledge requirements it is possible to also complete dogging, CN crane and CV crane or any combination within six days.

Our course covers:

  • Certification requirements
  • Duty of care
  • Responsibilities
  • Inspection, discard factors and safe working loads of equipment, fittings and tools
  • Hazard identification, risk assessment and control
  • Interpretation of site plans, practices, drawings and marking plans
  • Hazards associated with working in the proximity of moving equipment and cranes
  • Basic line drawings
  • Work permits, isolations, minimum clearances and planning the work to ensure clear paths of travel, and communication/ consulting with co-workers and others
  • Selection and usage of tools
  • Working in a public place and the necessary controls
  • Adherence to design specifications
  • Transport coordination requirements

After successful completion of your course you will be issued with a Worksafe Notice Of Assessment which will immediately entitle you to perform work until you receive your card. We also issue a Statement Of Attainment stating the unit achieved and process your Worksafe paperwork for you.
